Preparing for a Coil Fitting
Before your appointment:
- Call to arrange a pre-appointment discussion and get all the information you need
- Some women find the fitting uncomfortable – taking paracetamol or ibuprofen beforehand may help
Dr Benson can help you find the best contraceptive options for you, your body, and your family. She also provides coil fitting for menopause management and emergency contraception.
She is fully qualified in familyplanning: FSRH, LOCIUT, LOCSDI.
She is a member of the college of Sexual and Reproductive Health – CoSRH. Dr Benson has been fitting coils for many decades and has a calm and gentle manner, ideal if you are nervous or have had a previous difficult experience. She is very experienced at implant insertion and removal, and this can all be done in our calm discrete consulting rooms at a time to suit you.

Prolapse assessment and ring pessary fitting/changing
Management of your contraception and hormones
