Common Questions

How often should I have a smear test?

Screening is usually recommended annually, but this depends on HPV results and a detailed history. It may only be necessary every 5 years.
Screening is also recommended even if you have had the HPV vaccine.
Spencer Medical can provide HPV vaccination.

Does it hurt?

Most women feel only mild discomfort. The procedure is quick and gentle.

What happens if my result is abnormal?

Dr Benson will explain the results and advise on follow-up care, which may include repeat testing or referral to a specialist if needed.
